General Motors has issued a recall for more than 27,000 Cadillac crossover vehicles around the world due to their wheel nuts possibly being loose. If the nuts are loose, the American carmaker is worried that the wheels of the crossovers could fall off, which, if the cars were in motion, be a very bad situation.
Despite the danger posed by loose wheel nuts, GM says that as of the time of this writing it is not aware of any accidents, injuries, or deaths caused by them.
Nearly 19,000 of the impacted 2013 Cadillac SRX models equipped with 18-inch wheels are in the U.S., a little more than 900 in Canada, and more than 7,000 outside of North America. GM will rotate and tighten the wheels nuts to specification free of charge.
